Matt Fruge

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CapOut

Fort Worth, Texas, United States

Matt Fruge is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CapOut, where he is building the production layer between insurance scope approval and jobsite execution for roofing and restoration contractors. CapOut uses AI to convert the Xactimate PDF that an insurance adjuster sends into a structured ESX file, a profit breakdown by trade, and production-ready material and labor orders, eliminating the manual re-entry that costs contractors hours on every claim. Matt's focus is the gap most contractors quietly struggle with: the scope is approved, but getting from PDF to production still requires someone to sit at a desk and re-key every line item into Xactimate before a single order goes out or a crew gets scheduled.

Matt built CapOut from direct experience. He founded Roofmark Construction in 2010 and ran it for over 15 years in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, handling insurance restoration work day in and day out. He saw how the industry's reliance on manual estimate processing created bottlenecks, margin blindness, and delayed production starts. CapOut is his answer to that problem, a tool built by a contractor, for contractors, that treats the scope-to-production handoff as the critical workflow it actually is. Matt also founded SquareDash, a payment advance platform that helps roofing contractors solve the cash flow challenges created by 60+ day insurance payment cycles.

Before entering construction, Matt served as an Aviation Electronics Technician in the United States Navy (2001 to 2003), where he developed the discipline and precision he later brought to running crews and building software. He holds a degree in Business Computer Information Systems from the University of North Texas. Matt lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with his wife and three children.
